A gothic open-world survival game

V Rising is a premium action title made by developer Stunlock Studios. In this open-world survival game, players will take control of a newly awakened vampire and they are tasked with hunting for blood to help recover strength and evade the sun to survive.

Compared to other gothic, vampire-themed games like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 or Vampyr, V Rising plays more like an action RPG with its third-person top-down perspective. The core gameplay also has players focus more on open-world exploration and survival as they avoid succumbing to the rays of the sun.

What is it about?

In V Rising, you take on the role of a vampire who has awakened from centuries of slumber. However, the long passage of time has left you in a weakened state, and you will need to hunt for blood to regain your strength. Be wary of the danger that the scorching sun presents while you keep to the shadows and hunt nearby settlements for your nourishment.

On your quest to regain your strength and powers, the game will also have you gather resources and gain knowledge to help you build a castle to call home. Use it to store your loot and house the army of darkness you recruit throughout your journey. You need to fortify it to defend against outsiders looking to invade and pillage it, as well.

Play solo or forge allegiances with your fellow vampires to help you face and defeat powerful creatures and humans. You can also go the opposite route and raid other castles to gain more power and loot. One mechanic, however, that frustrates many players is the sun vulnerability. According to them, staying out of the sunlight limits their exploration and the things they can do.

New perils await in Invaders of Oakveil

The Invaders of Oakveil update breathes new life into the vampiric world of V Rising. The once-serene Oakveil Woodlands now teem with corruption as the Serpent Queen Megara and her Venom Blades spread venomous chaos. Players must navigate this treacherous biome, confront formidable foes, and uncover the secrets of venom-infused sap

The addition of three new weapons—Claws, Twinblade, and Throwing Daggers—alongside seven unique spells, offers fresh combat strategies, enhancing the game's dynamic battles. The update also introduces a customizable Castle Arena, allowing players to engage in risk-free duels and team battles. Castle management sees improvements, too, with features like the Treasury Room enabling efficient crafting directly from storage.

The comprehensive combat overhaul redefines gameplay, with reworked blood types, including the new Corrupted Blood, and the introduction of the Blood Homogenizer for tailored enhancements.  For those seeking aesthetic upgrades, the Eternal Dominance Pack DLC offers opulent castle decorations. This update solidifies the game's position as a premier vampire survival experience.

A must-try for fans of action and survival games

V Rising is a standout title in the survival RPG genre, successfully merging atmospheric world-building, tactical combat, and castle-building into a cohesive, addictive experience. Whether you're seduced by its strategic depth or enthralled by its gothic charm, this game makes you feel like a true predator of the night—constantly hunting, evolving, and ruling from the shadows. It’s a chilling adventure that’s hard to put down.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
